WORST EATING EXPERIENCE EVER My family & I had the worst eating experience ever in any restaurant when we went to dine at TOPS for dim sum lunch one weekend. They had missed one dish from our dim sum order, and they made us wait over 1/2 hr for the missing backordered dish. When we tried to cancel the pending dish, they made us pay for it anyways by revising the bill to delete the missing dish worth $3.70, but proceeded to add an additional $3.70 tea charge which resulted in the same total. After giving us the bill, the late dish arrived, and the waitress apologized for the delay, and suggested we eat it anyways since it's finally arrived. We thought it was a good gesture of the restaurant, and did eat it - only to have a revised bill come to our table to pay another additional $3.70 for the dish. We contested, and left the restaurant paying only what we owed - minus the extra $3.70 the restaurant tried to push onto us. As we left, the entire restaurant staff created a scene and commotion, and tried to lock us in the restaurant while threatening to call the police and harassed us all the way to our car. Because they did not have any rights to hold us, they continued to harrass my family, and claimed to copy down our license plates as we left. We cannot believe that any restaurant would go to such lengths just to get an extra $3.70!! We asked for the manager, however, the lady cashier at the time refused to let us talk to him. We didn't know who the manager was at the time, but I cannot believe this manager would allow his staff to behave and treat their customers in such a manner. We are noting this for the benefit of other customers as we do not believe such behaviour and conduct should be tolerated. ..More Reviews
